Really Cool Classroom Guitar Mosiac

Table and Chairs

Not exactly "hands on" but it worked.
Admittedly this is not a hands on type of project, but this school created a cool composite of every student, printed 300 copies and sold them to nearly every parent for $20 each.

If handprints work...why not?
"Handprint Projects" have been a staple for years. I liked this take on an old favorite
Hand Print End Table

Student Thumbprints on plate
A Classroom project favorite, thumbprints of young students transformed(with some teachers help) into cute bugs or critters.

Fun artwork
Best part here is that it's interesting enough to get bidders from outside the Classroom it represents.

Thumbprints
More thumbprints. Bees this time.

Creative Quilt #1
Quilt included printed cloth "cut outs" of each student. Think paper dolls of years gone by.

Creative Quilt #2
More detailed look at above Quilt.

Copper Plate
Teacher helped students pound out some cool designs on each piece of copper. Then assembled them into this great artwork piece.

Very creative.

It's a Sandbox
Functional and fun. Full size at 5' x 5' Sold for around $2000. You could easily customize this idea to fit your needs.

Room Divider Screen
Each student's artwork was placed in the frame opposite their picture. Very cool and creative.

Warholesque Photo Montage
A parent with some Photoshop skills helped put this together. I always recommend this be sold as an open edition. Allow every parent to buy one for $50 instead of only one family getting it for $1000.

Decorated White Tiles
Nothing too fancy here. 4 x 4 white tiles bought at Home Depot for $1.00 each, decorated by 4th graders.

Classroom decorated Adirondack Chair

Planter Pots
I've seen this a few times. The ones shown here were sold to parents for $20 each. No real bidding took place, as very few parents want some other child's planter.
Not a horrible centerpiece idea either.

Planters #2

More Computer Tricks
Mona Lisa mosaic of children's images.

Children's Toy Box #1
Great piece. Kid's handprints on inside of lid on this full size toy box.

Children's Toy Box #2
Quilt
Each student designs or otherwise is responsible for each square on the quilt. Adult sews it together usually.

Quilt #2

Quilt #3
One of the better quilts I've sold over the years. Sold for about what my second car cost me. ; )
More Footprint Art

Children's Bench

Custom School Frame
Each class did multiple frames and sold them with class pictures in them. the clear value was in the frame it self.

Painted Plates

Tiles

Theatre Poster
A piece of memorabilia for the parents of theater kids. Each student signed this poster and it sold well in the silent auction.

Kindergarten Quilts
Nothing cuter than 6 year olds cutting out ocean critters for a quilt.

Trees
Definitely outside the box on this one. Each classroom produced a "tree" with various pieces of art hanging from its branches.

Classroom Masks

Painted Ikea Chair
White chair + kids+paint = $900.00

Custom Chair

Quilted Classroom Pillows for Charity Auction
Same idea as big quilts, but more manageable for this school to go the pillow route.

Unique Handprint Idea
That's a beach umbrella.

Masks
Each student in the class did his/her own mask and added it to the piece.

Bench
Another bench. This one has cut outs of each kid on the seat. Finished with some type of protective sealant.

Concrete Tiles
Each classroom did a small concrete tile with some shiny baubles inset.

Butterflies
Just fun butterfly project for some 3rd graders. Framed up very nicely.

Kindergarten Toy Box
Classic. I've sold these for years and they always go great. This one went for $4000 in the Silent section of the auction.

Toy Box Details
Kindergarten kids finger panting.

Fishy Hands Quilt
Each child places hand on quilt, then they turn hand prints into fish. Very creative teacher.

Fishy Quilt Detail Picture
Up close on Fishy quilt.

MIrror Mosiac
Each child does one tile around mirror.

Benefit School Auction - Children's Toy Box
Handsprints on Pole
Photo does not do this project justice. Each child's hand was formed in wood and painted, then mounted by a local artist on this pole. Very cool piece. Sold for +$30K. Seriously.

Scale Schoolhouse
Creative project, but honestly a tough sell. Don't overlook the "where do I put it once I've bought it" factor in doing classroom projects. The best ones I've ever sold have been ones that can fit into someone's home wihtout standing out too much adn require limited redecorating to accomodate the space needed. This requires a table dedicated to it's display.
Awesome and functional. An easy sell at any School Auction

Functional and creative Clas Project
Great Classroom Project
Classroom Project - Clcok
What I love about this one, is it is not specific to one class. This opens the potential bidding up to many more people in the room. I love that one clasroom did it, but if it says "Mrs Jones 3rd Grade" on the item, that limits your buying pool.
